![]() ![]() Is it a smaller ship (comparatively) yes. While you are always going to have a handful of complainers clearly the vast majority of the people who went on Freedom enjoyed it but sadly chose not to take the time to write a review. Keeping that in mind you can only find a handful of reviews regarding the Freedom and most are negative. The Freedom holds over 3,000 people, it leaves on 4 and 5 day cruises every week. I have to start off by saying that a few weeks before our cruise I was ready to cancel the whole trip based solely off reviews I'd read on Tripadvisor and Cruise Critic. You have been enlightened, but share your experience and lets compare notes.… ![]() On this cruise, if your go in with my view you are the minority. I view cruising as an experience that is earned and should be appreciated not one that is expected just because you exist. Will I book with Carnival again, yes. However it will be a longer cruise at a higher price point to hopefully weed out some of the people these types of cruises this attracts. ![]() I had high hopes, lower expectations, and was met with a mediocre experience. This is not Carinivals fault, but our society as a whole. Know booking this cruise you will be met with some of the worst in our society. This itinerary and duration is where cruise ships go to die and I am sure without a refurbishment this ship will join the boneyard. Think hard about the saying "you get what you pay for" before you book this itinerary. Small pools, few pools, slow (and I mean slow) bar service, and your fellow cruisers made this cruise my worst cruise so far. I believe it is due to the cheers packages sold since they are hoping for an additional tip, but most do not leave them. Staff did a great job, but the bar staff were not incentivized to serve. Robby is high energy for a cruise director, however, not sure he is "respected" by his staff. In fact, one of the chairs on our balcony was broken and very uncomfortable for my petite wife to sit on and had I sat on it it probably would have failed. Windows cracked or broken all over ship including in our balcony stateroom. Main dining room was the slowest service I have ever encountered on a cruise for smaller portions and lower quality and variety than in the past. Everywhere you went you had to stand in line longer than expected. Omelet stations in the morning for breakfast was the best choice as well (however very long lines). Mongolian Wok was also good, but also very long lines (like 20 mins long). Blue iguanas was good, the BBQ was good, and the pizza is consistent. Food is mediocre at most places, but Guys was very good, and the steak house was great. I have never been so rudely treated by fellow humans then on this cruise. This human experiment that we are all apart of is failing. Manners have gone by the wayside anymore and most people on board were only worried about themselves. I knew that this is a weekend party cruise and we went in expecting as much, but I must say it was not the staff that ruined it for us (besides the bar service) it was the other passengers. I would like to say that I had an amazing time, but I can't. We will not be recommending this cruise line.… In short, we both left the ship feeling like we would not want to cruise again, and that our money was not well spent with Carnival. We also were surprised that we had to purchase drink packages that were expensive, IN ADDITION TO paying market price for better food options. So again, this meal was bland and also a big disappointment. However, we had a choice of only 3 sauces (one of which was hot), and none of them were teriyaki! Not even available as a side option! The protien options to grill did not include shrimp or lobster meat, and there were no pineapple chunks as well. As for the Mongolian grill, we eat at one regularly at home and were initially excited about this option. No crab meat, fresh fish or lobster unless you paid additional and at market prices. IF there was shrimp it was overcooked and soaked in a sauce. I was also very disappointed in the limited sea food options at the buffets. The word that we agreed upon to describe the majority of the food was bland. However, both my husband and myself were disappointed in the lunch and dinner food at the buffets, including the Mongolian grill. Guy Fieri's burgers and fries were fantastic. I also enjoyed the musical show, it was very bright and entertaining. Hello Let me begin by saying that the staff and crew were always friendly and that we appreciated how the staff were constantly cleaning all public areas of the ship. ![]()
